Jason was number two academically in his 1988 US Naval Academy Class. His academic achievements allowed him to go directly to medical school after his graduation. He completed medical school at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland in 1992.
During his 28 years of service in the US Navy, his sea time included a six-month deployment aboard the USS Roosevelt aircraft carrier during the Bosnia crisis and the Iraq no-fly zone. He also participated in two humanitarian deployments on the USNS Comfort hospital ship which included treating the survivors of the Indonesia tsunami and working among the impoverished indigenous people in the Maldives. Jason also taught residents his sub-specialty of Oculoplastic Surgery at San Diego Naval Medical Center from 2005 – 2010.
Jason has been married to his college sweetheart, Michele, for 28 years and has two beautiful daughters, Isabella, 12 and Gianna, 8. When not prancing around on stage acting like Cher, he enjoys running and spending time with his family. His hobbies include teaching himself Spanish and maintaining a modest tarantula collection. Jason has also performed charitable work for Boys Town and Girl Scouts of America.
