Jason grew up in Melbourne and Palm Bay. Upon returning to Florida, he has taught music at Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School. Currently, he owns The Irish Pub and Crackerjacks Seafood and Tiki Bar in Titusville.
He is in the process of renovating the old Nevins packing plant into a variety of businesses including the Venue, Urban Fresh, and Studio of the Arts. The Venue is a shabby chic urban rustic all- inclusive space for weddings. Urban Fresh is an indoor farming initiative to provide fresh local sustainable food.
His personal goal for years has been to be more involved in the arts. He has been involved with the local theaters and is highly involved with local charities. Studio of the Arts is a 501(c)3 nonprofit starting in the fall. Its mission is to bring opportunities in the arts further into north Brevard.
Activist. Ally. Feminist. Icon. Just a few words that come to mind when one thinks of Cyndi Lauper. A revolutionary in the music industry, Ms. Lauper brought a new kind of woman vocalist to the scene – one that celebrated differences and encouraged self-expression. Her legacy will live on for years to come, and her influence can be heard in multiple recording artists.
I chose Cyndi Lauper because she has been a beacon of empowerment, reminding us that Girls Just Want to Have Fun and to remember our True Colors.
