With support from hope & grace, the Women’s Center’s counseling program has provided services to 243 clients. Counseling assists clients to obtain coping strategies with trauma related symptoms, as well as reduces depression, anxiety, stress disorders, improves self-image, increases socialization and interpersonal skills. The clients, along with our trained licensed mental health therapist, developed individualized treatment plans; and goals for their treatment.
“Since over half of women will experience at least one serious trauma-triggering experience in their lifetimes,” the hope & grace fund values and supports a trauma-informed approach to mental health care. This treatment framework involves understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of trauma, and emphasizes physical, psychological, and emotional safety, and specific therapeutic approaches that help survivors rebuild a sense of control and empowerment. The fund seeks to select programs that offer trauma-informed care for women that is designed to be gender-responsive.

The hope & grace fund is a project of the New Venture Fund, a 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to supporting powerful and impactful public interest projects. The program was launched in partnership with philosophy in July, 2014 and is fully funded through philosophy’s contribution of 1% of all net USA product sales on philosophy.com, and subsequently integrated all USA retail, online and television product sales. With the hope & grace initiative, philosophy becomes the first company to place a deep focus on women’s mental health and wellbeing. In addition, philosophy becomes the first major skin care and fragrance brand to make a brand-wide commitment to dedicate at least 1% of its USA sales to charity.
