A one-week summer camp for adolescent girls entering 5th through 8th grade in the upcoming school year. The camp focuses on girls attaining positive self-esteem and themes may include: Learning About & Taking Care of Myself; Leadership & Teamwork; Giving Back to the Community; Embracing Creativity and The World Around Us
A free after school program to educate, empower, and benefit middle school (grades 6-8) aged girls. This program helps girls make healthy choices. Journeys’ objectives include goal setting, identifying leadership skills, managing self-defense and much more. Girls who attend Journeys are mentored, assisted in setting boundaries and role play to prevent dating violence. The girls are introduced to women in STEM related fields and are able to learn more about opportunities in these rewarding career paths.
The SVPP Violence Prevention Program provided violence prevention education to over 1,009 students in Brevard County schools. 27 teens participated in our Youth Community Action Team (YCAT) in 2015.
In 2015, Journey’s, our after school program designed for at-risk young females who attend middle school; attended by 12 girls in the summer pilot program and 20 girls attended in fall 2015.
Camp Gaia- 24 girls in 5th through 8th grades attended a week long summer camp to build self esteem and gain leadership skills.
